Managing opportunities using your tablet

An opportunity represents a potential sale of one or more products to a client. The Opportunities workspace lists any sales opportunities associated with the contacts you cover, as well as essential details for these opportunities, like the products and the progress of the opportunities.

You can access all of your opportunities from the Opportunities workspace on your tablet. You can also view opportunities associated with a specific contact from that contact's record in the Contacts workspace.

Adding opportunities

Add opportunities using your tablet.

To add an opportunity:

  1. Touch the Add button , and then touch Parent Opportunity or Product Opportunity.
    The Select Template dialog opens.
  2. Touch the template for the opportunity type you want to add.
    The Add Opportunity page opens.
  3. Complete the fields as desired and then touch Save.

The opportunity is now added and can be viewed in the Opportunities workspace.

Adding opportunities to contacts

Add opportunities to specific contacts using your tablet.

To add an opportunity to a contact:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts workspace.
  2. Touch the contact you want to add an opportunity to.
  3. Touch the Add button , and then touch Parent Opportunity to select an opportunity associated with a set of product opportunities or Product Opportunity to select an opportunity associated with a product.
    The Select Template dialog opens.
  4. Touch the template for the opportunity type you want to add.
    The Add Opportunity page opens with the selected contact in the For field.
  5. Complete the fields as desired and then touch Save.

The new opportunity is now created and can be viewed from the Opportunities page in the Contacts workspace for the associated contact and in the Opportunities workspace.

Viewing and filtering opportunities

You can view all the opportunities in the system for which you are part of the opportunity coverage team. Use the filters in the Opportunities workspace to help you find a particular opportunity.

To view and filter your opportunities:

  1. Navigate to the Opportunities workspace.

    You can also view opportunities related to a contact from the Contacts workspace.

    A list of your opportunities at any stage in the qualifying process appears.

  2. Touch one of the drop-down filter menus and select a filter by which to narrow the list of opportunities.
    The opportunities list is now filtered as you specified.

Editing opportunities

You can edit opportunities in the system for which you are part of the opportunity coverage team.

To edit opportunities:

  1. Navigate to the Opportunities workspace.
  2. Touch the opportunity you want to edit.
    The Properties page opens.
  3. Touch Edit.
    The Edit page opens.
  4. Make your changes to the opportunity and then touch Save.

You have now edited the opportunity.
