NexJ Admin Console and NexJ System Admin Console overview

NexJ provides two administrative consoles, NexJ Admin Console and NexJ System Admin Console, to enable you to configure and monitor NexJ Customer Relationship Management (NexJ CRM). NexJ CRM helps users keep track of their clients, potential clients, schedules, events, tasks, and more.

You use NexJ Admin Console to configure NexJ CRM to meet the specific business needs of your organization.

You use NexJ System Admin Console to monitor and manage object queues as well as view real-time usage statistics for NexJ Model Engine. For example, you can view pending object queue messages, resend blocked messages, and disable the receive method for a specific queue. You can view real-time usage statistics through Java Management Extensions (JMX). You can also filter and view system integration log files on the Integration Log page.

Navigating NexJ Admin Console

NexJ Admin Console contains an application toolbar located at the top the selected page. You can use the toolbar to perform actions such as showing or hiding the sidebar or navigating to another page. You can also navigate to additional pages from the sidebar. You use pages to customize and maintain NexJ CRM.

You can do the following from the toolbar:

  • Click the Show/Hide Sidebar button

to toggle the sidebar, which is used to navigate between pages.

  • Click the Save button

to save changes on the current page. If you are running NexJ CRM while making changes, you may have to restart the application for your changes to take effect.

Changes made in NexJ System Admin Console are saved automatically.

  • Click the Undo

    or  Redo
button to undo or redo changes to the current page.

  • Click the  User

    , Organization Security
    Entity Codes
Coverage, or  Work Queues  buttons to navigate to that page.

The Batch Broker

button is used by developers to manage batch processes. The Sample Data button
is used by developers to load sample data before testing their applications. The Import Mailers button is used by administrators to import mailer templates for batch printing Document Manager items including birthday mailers.

Resizing pages and lists

You can resize most page sections by dragging the vertical and horizontal splitters between the two sections. This is useful when you are entering data or looking for specific information.

Most lists in NexJ Admin Console and NexJ System Admin Console have the same behavior, and can be manipulated in the same ways to customize the way that information displays. As with page sections, you can resize columns by dragging the vertical dividers between column headings.

Modifying items in a list

The  Add

Delete
, and  Select
buttons at the top right of several lists in NexJ Admin Console enable you to quickly add, delete, and select  items in those lists.

A few lists also contain the up and down arrow buttons (

 and
), which allow you to change the order of the  items in these lists. You can also perform the same actions by right-clicking on the list and selecting an option.

Localizing entities, activities, and related types

You can localize entities, activities, and related types in NexJ Admin Console to display captions in a user's preferred language in NexJ CRM.

The English locale is the only language supported by NexJ CRM and end users don’t have the ability to change their locale based on their browser setting. The English variant that is configured at design time in the server should match with the variant you configure in the browser. If this is not configured properly, end users may experience unintended behaviors.

You must have specified the Enable Localization user option to localize entities, activities, and related types.

Localize an entity, activity, or related type by editing it and selecting a locale. You can then enter caption translations for the selected locale.

You can localize captions for the following entities, activities, and related types:

  • Activity Badges
  • Activity Templates
  • Activity Plan Templates
  • Address Types
  • Assignment Models
  • Business Process Templates
