Configuring attachments for business process templates
Attachments are documents and images that you can include in a business process template.
They are typically used to provide additional information or context pertaining to the business process. When a user views the business process, they can view and print the attachments.
You can include merge documents as attachments in a business process template. Merge documents are Microsoft Word, PDF, or CSV documents that contain merge fields, which, when printed, automatically populate with corresponding information from a contact, company, opportunity, or service request record.
Adding attachments to business process templates
Add an attachment to a step in a business process template when you want to provide a document or image to users who view the business process.
Before starting this task, ensure that you have deactivated the business process template. You cannot modify active templates.
To add an attachment to a business process template:
You have added an attachment to the business process template. The next time that a user runs this business process, the attachment will be included. If the attachment is a merge document, it will automatically populate with information from the contact, company, service request, or opportunity record when the user prints it.
Editing attachments for business process templates
Edit an attachment in a business process template when you want to make changes to the details of the attached document.
Before starting this task, ensure that you have deactivated the business process template. You cannot modify active templates.
To edit an attachment in a business process template:
You have edited the attachment in the business process template. The next time that a user runs the business process, the modified version of the attachment will be included.
Deleting attachments from business process templates
Delete an attachment from a business process template when you no longer want to want to provide the attachment to users who view the business process.
