Managing products associated with product opportunities

You can add, delete, or change the details of products associated with a product opportunity.

You can add one or more products to a product opportunity. When adding a product to a product opportunity, in addition to specifying the name and type of product, you may also specify additional details, such as unit price and quantity.

To add a product to a product opportunity:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the Opportunities workspace, select the product opportunity you want to add a product to. Select the Detail tab and find the Products section.
    • On the Contacts workspace, select the contact associated with the product opportunity you want to a product to. In the Journal tab, select the Opportunities subtab. From the list of opportunities associated with the contact, select the product opportunity you want to add a product to. Select the Products tab.
  2. Click the Add button.
    The Select Product dialog appears.
  3. Select a product and click OK.
    You can filter the list of available products by product name and product type.
    The Add Product Opportunity dialog appears.
  4. Complete the dialog as required and click Add.
    The dialog closes.

The new product now appears in the product list.

After a product has been added to the product opportunity, you can take any of the following actions in the Products tab on the Contacts workspace or in the Detail tab on the Opportunities workspace:

  • To modify the details of the product, click Edit.
  • To delete the product, click Delete.
