Viewing opportunities

You can view and manage opportunities from several workspaces in NexJ CRM.

Opportunities are available from the following workspaces:

Opportunities workspace

The Opportunities workspace lists all sales opportunities that you have access to.

The Opportunities workspace is divided into the following two major sections:

  • The opportunities panel on the left, which contains the opportunities list and the search area. You can find opportunities in the database using a quick find tool, advanced search options, and user-defined filters.
  • The profile area on the right. The profile area displays summary information about the opportunity in the banner. Below the banner, there are additional details about the opportunity. The detailed information is divided by category into several tabs.

You can use the Opportunities workspace to add, edit, delete, or export opportunities.

Contacts workspace

You can also view opportunities associated with a specific contact from that contact's record in the Contacts workspace. In the Journal tab, in the Opportunities subtab, you can see the list of opportunities associated with the contact. Below the list, you can see the details about each opportunity. The detailed information is divided by category into several tabs. In the Contacts workspace, you can add, edit, or delete opportunities for a specific contact.

Home workspace

You can view opportunity dashboards on the Home workspace in the My Opportunities tab. You can view information about your opportunities and sales in the pipeline dashboard, and information about opportunities and sales across your organization in the management dashboard.

Campaigns workspace

In addition, you can view opportunities associated with a specific campaign in the Campaigns workspace. On the right side of the Campaigns workspace, in the Opportunities tab, you can see the list of opportunities associated with the campaign. If you double-click an opportunity, you can view or edit the details about each opportunity. The detailed information is divided by category into several tabs.

Viewing opportunities on the Opportunities workspace

You can view all your opportunities on the Opportunities workspace.

You can view opportunities associated with a contact or company on the Contacts workspace. You can view opportunities associated with a campaign on the Campaigns workspace. You can also view opportunity dashboards on the Home workspace in the My Opportunities tab.

To view all opportunities that you have permission to view:

  1. Navigate to the Opportunities workspace.
  2. Confirm that the user-defined filter specified in the field above the opportunity list is correct.
    You can change the filter by clicking the Set Filter button  in the filter field. The Set Filter menu contains your favorite saved filters. You can also select the following additional options:

    Other Filters
    Allows you to choose from the complete list of available saved filters.
    New Filter
    Allows you to create a new filter for your own use. You can run the filter immediately or save it to be reused later. In addition, if you have appropriate permissions, you can create a new filter to be shared with other users.
    Manage Filters
    Allows you to specify which saved filters should appear on the Set Filter menu, and in what order.

    You can modify the currently selected filter by clicking the Edit button  in the filter field.

  3. [Optional] To filter the opportunities using their descriptions, enter the text in the Description field and click the Find button .
    The Description field supports the * and ? wildcard characters. The * wildcard is a place holder for a string of text of any length, including spaces, while the ? wildcard represents a single alphanumeric character.
  4. [Optional] To filter using advanced search criteria, click the Show Filter button and specify your search criteria.
    Additional filter criteria are displayed, including:
    • Type
    • Status
    • Template
    • Stage
    You can specify filter criteria in one or more fields. For example, to look for all parent opportunities that are open, you would specify the information in the Any Type and Any Status fields.
    As you enter your search criteria, it displays as read-only text in the Filtered by field.
  5. Click Run.
    The opportunities list below the filter criteria is refreshed and only the opportunities that fit the filter criteria are included in the list.
  6. Select the opportunity you want to view.
    Information about the opportunity is displayed in the details zone to the right of the opportunities list. The detailed information is divided by category into the banner on top of the detail zone and several tabs on the bottom.
    • The banner on top of the detail zone displays the basic information about the opportunity, such as the contact it is associated with, the expected amount, and the current stage of the opportunity. To edit any of the information in the banner, click the Edit button next to the description of the opportunity.
    • The Detail tab displays additional information about the opportunity, including a longer text description (overview) of the opportunity, the products associated with the opportunity, the users or coverage groups associated with the opportunity, and any additional contacts associated with the opportunity. You can edit each section of the Detail tab independently.
    • The Activities tab displays all the activities associated with the opportunity. You can filter the list of activities by schedule item type and description. To filter using additional search criteria, click the Show Filter button . You can see and edit the details of the selected activity on the bottom of the Activities tab. To add a new activity, click Add. You can also delete activities, mark them as complete, add call records to them, or send emails regarding them. To do this, click the Action button  and select the appropriate action.
    • The Future Steps tab displays any future steps that need to be taken regarding this opportunity. You cannot edit the steps on this tab.
    • The Business Processes tab enables you to add an approval business process for a change to the opportunity.

You have now viewed this opportunity.

Info

You can view and edit the same information from the Contacts workspace. It is available in the Journal tab in the Opportunities subtab.

You can also see a list of opportunities associated with a campaign on the Campaigns workspace in the Opportunities tab. To be able to view and edit opportunity details from the Campaigns workspace, click the Action button  and select Dock or Edit.

Working with user-defined filters
