Deactivating and activating entities

Deactivate an entity when you want to hide it in NexJ CRM.

An entity is an object in NexJ CRM that represents a person (such as a user, contact, or lead) or an organization of individuals (such as household, company, or department). In addition, it can represent an investment account. When Capital Markets functionality is enabled, entities can also represent institutions, sectors, and funds.

Deactivating an entity hides the entity from the entities list, relationship hierarchy, and searches.

Although deactivated entities are not shown in basic searches, you have the option to include them in advanced searches. Deactivated entities will also be visible in saved lists that include the entity.

Deactivating an entity is different than deleting an entity, because deactivated entities remain in the system and retain all of their associated information, such as documents and relationships. Deactivate an entity to remove it without deleting the record permanently. If desired, the entity can be reactivated at a later time.

To deactivate an entity:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts workspace and search for the required entity.
  2. From the list of entities, select the entity you want to deactivate.
  3. Click the Action button and select Set Inactive.

The entity is deactivated.
