Time zone considerations
The following information describes how NexJ CRM and Exchange Server treat time zones and Daylight Savings Time (DST).
- NexJ CRM uses the time from the Java VM on the server on which it is running. The times in the Exchange server and NexJ CRM do not have to be exactly in sync.
- Applying Microsoft's DST patch on Exchange Server will cause a recalculation of all recurring items, which would cause mass synchronization. Applying a DST patch on the application server on which NexJ CRM runs would not cause mass synchronization automatically. To correct times for recurring items you would need to force a recalculation using a script and that would cause mass synchronization from NexJ CRM to Exchange.
- DST adjustment only affects recurring items.
- If NexJ CRM and a user's Microsoft Outlook application are running in different time zones, then the meeting time label in Microsoft Outlook displays the time relative to the NexJ CRM time zone. The scheduled time is accurate. This occurs only on systems running Microsoft Exchange 2010.
