Certified configurations, advanced tested configurations, and supported platforms for each release are listed below.

Software and hardware mentioned below may have their own additional requirements.

Server and database requirements

NexJ Customer Relationship Management is designed to work with a variety of operating systems, databases, and servers.

Each release of the product is comprehensively tested on a number of configurations of specific versions of each platform. Some supported platforms receive additional testing and certification for specific versions of the operating systems, databases, and servers for each release.

Supported platforms

NexJ Model Engine works with the following operating systems, databases, and servers.

IBM WebSphere application server requires Java 8. NexJ Server requires Java 7 or later.

Info

In addition, SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and PostgreSQL are supported as data sources for integration purposes. Using SAP Sybase ASE or PostgreSQL as the main system data source for NexJ Customer Relationship Management is currently not supported.

Required database drivers

NexJ Customer Relationship Management uses various drivers to communicate with its supported databases. To ensure successful communication with your databases, use the driver versions below when you deploy NexJ Customer Relationship Management. 

Database servers for deployment and data integration

IBM DB2
To run on or integrate with IBM DB2 databases, your database administrator should contact NexJ in order to get information on the specific driver version and patches required for your installation.

Microsoft SQL Server
To run on or integrate with Microsoft SQL Server databases, you should use the jtds-1.2.2-7.jar driver located in the %NEXJ_PLUGIN%\ext folder. For example, if you install NexJ Studio in C:\nexj_studio\11.0, the driver will be in C:\nexj_studio\11.0\plugins\com.nexjsystems.nexjstudio_version\ext.

Oracle Database
To run on or integrate with Oracle databases, your database administrator should contact NexJ in order to get information on the specific driver version and patches required for your installation.

Database servers for data integration only

SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise
To integrate with SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise Server data sources, you should use the jtds-1.2.2-7.jar driver located in the %NEXJ_PLUGIN%\ext folder. For example, if you install NexJ Studio in C:\nexj_studio\11.0, the driver will be in C:\nexj_studio\11.0\plugins\com.nexjsystems.nexjstudio_version\ext.

PostgreSQL
To integrate with PostgreSQL data sources, you should use the postgresql-version.jdbc.jar driver provided with your PostgreSQL distribution.

NexJ client requirements

The following topics provide the hardware and software requirements for accessing NexJ CRM from various client devices.

NexJ Customer Relationship Management end user system requirements (desktop)

To run a NexJ application client such as NexJ CRM, the end user's computer must meet the following requirements.

Note

For optimal NexJ CRM performance and appearance, use the following recommended configuration:

  • Set Windows display resolution to 96 DPI (100%)
  • Set your browser zoom level to 100%

Other display configurations may not be supported.

    When using Microsoft Internet Explorer, ensure that the Enable native XMLHTTP support option is selected. This option is set in the Security section of the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog.

    When using Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 and higher, the Render legacy filters option must be enabled for your security zone to ensure that dashboard charts display correctly. This option is set in the security level settings in the Security tab in the Internet Options dialog.

    NexJ CRM supports standards mode for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.

  • Current version of Mozilla Firefox (latest tested release is 57.0.2)
  • Current version of Google Chrome (latest tested release is 62.0.3202.94)
  • Current version of Apple Safari - supported only on Mac OS (latest tested release is 11.0.1)

Additional Software Requirements

The following additional software is required in order to make use of specific supplementary functions and features:

  • A PDF viewer application, such as Adobe Reader, to view PDF documents and to generate attachment previews.
  • Microsoft Office to view Microsoft supported documents.
  • Microsoft Outlook to use NexJ Outlook Add-In feature included with NexJ Add-In for Microsoft Office.
  • Microsoft Word to generate and edit documents for use with the NexJ Mail Merge feature included with NexJ Add-In for Microsoft Office.

Mobile NexJ CRM end user system requirements (tablet and smartphone)

NexJ CRM supports the following mobile and tablet configurations.

Supported tablet specifications

  • Apple iPad 2 or later and above running iOS 8.x or later

The NexJ CRM tablet interface is optimized for landscape mode. While rotation to portrait orientation is supported, not all functionality may be readily accessible.

Supported smartphone specifications

  • Apple iPhone 4S or later running Apple iOS 8.x or later
  • Androidâ„¢ smartphone running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to 6.1 Marshmallow

Browsers

  • Current version of Google Chrome - supported only on Android devices (latest tested release is 53.0.2785.116 m)
  • Current version of Apple Safari - supported only on iOS devices (latest tested release is 9.3.3)

NexJ Studio hardware and software requirements

Your system must meet the following requirements to be able to install and use NexJ Studio.

The 64-bit version of the Microsoft Windows operating system is recommended.


Minimum Hardware Requirements

  • 4 GB RAM (6 GB or higher recommended)
  • 2 GB free disk space for each workspace

NexJ Data Mapping Tool minimum requirements

Your system must meet the following requirements to use the NexJ Data Mapping Tool.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

Some additional Microsoft software patches may be required depending upon your environment.

End of support information

The following hardware, software, and product functionality is no longer supported for use with NexJ Model Engine, NexJ Studio, or NexJ CRM.

Deprecated features

Native ad hoc reporting
Native ad hoc reporting functionality was deprecated in v7.0. JasperReports Server's ad hoc reporting functionality replaces native ad hoc reporting in NexJ CRM.
