Adding activity plans

Add an activity plan to assign a set of tasks to a specific contact.

Before you can add activity plans to contacts, activity plan templates must be available. For more information, on activity plan templates, including activity plan steps, relationships, and attachments, see Configuring activity plan templates.

To add an activity plan to a contact:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts workspace.
  2. Select the contact you want to add an activity plan for.
    The selected contact's profile opens.
  3. In the Journal tab, in the Activities subtab, click Add > Activity Plan > <template name> where <templatename> is the name of the activity plan template you want to use.
    The Add Activity Plan dialog opens.
  4. In the Detail tab, you can modify the description, associated contacts, start date, due date, reminders, priority, status and notes as desired. If you are adding a large note and you want to view the entire note and edit it, click View/Edit Full Notes.
  5. In the Steps tab, you can view the activity plan steps inherited from the template and you can add any additional steps as needed. For more information on activity plan steps see Adding activity plan steps when creating activity plans.
  6. In the Related tab, you can associate the activity plan with a campaign, event, opportunity, product, service request, or an account. For more information on activity plan relationships see Associating related information to activity plans.
  7. In the Attachments tab, you can view the attachments inherited from the template and you can add, replace, and remove attachments as needed. For more information on activity plan attachments see Managing activity plan attachments.
  8. Click OK.
    The Add Activity Plan dialog closes.

The activity plan is added to the contact.
