New features delivered in 26.05

Accessibility enhancements

  • Background images on banners for dashboards, drawers, and preview panes (including contacts, companies, households, users, leads, opportunities, service requests, and campaigns) have been replaced with solid background colors (CRM-1850). This change improves accessibility by ensuring focused elements are clearly visible against the banner background.

  • For the Customer Process Management (CPM) feature, the banner has also been updated to use the improved solid background color styling, instead of the earlier color which had insufficient contrast for accessibility (CRM-6322).

  • New keyboard shortcuts have been added to navigate between major UI areas (CRM-3850). The application toolbar has also been made screen reader friendly. These shortcuts allow users to navigate the application entirely by keyboard, improving accessibility and workflow efficiency.

    • Alt+1 for the navigation drawer

    • Alt+2 for the application toolbar

    • Alt+3 for the application body

    • Alt+4 for the application drawer

  • Implemented screen reader support and application modifications to work toward WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A compliance (CRM-6052). The supported screen reader is NVDA. This enhancement improves the application's accessibility for users who rely on assistive technologies.

Usability enhancements

  • The contact import process now automatically handles files with BOM (Byte Order Mark) encoding, treating them as regular UTF-8 files (CRM-2750). Additionally, when an XML file contains invalid characters, the error report now displays a user-friendly message instead of technical stack traces. These changes provide clearer, more actionable error reporting during contact and lead imports.

  • Country code mappings have been updated to align with the latest ISO 3166 standard (CRM-5686). Three country names have been changed: "Macedonia, the former Yugoslav Republic of" is now "North Macedonia," "Swaziland" is now "Eswatini," and "Turkey" is now "Türkiye." These updates ensure that country names displayed throughout the application (contacts, companies, households, users, leads, reports, filters, and imports) reflect current international naming conventions.

  • Batch email and batch print processes now display a user-friendly error message when a user attempts to attach a password-protected or encrypted PDF file (CRM-353). This message identifies which files are read-only and cannot be used. Previously, the process failed with a cryptic technical error, making it difficult for users to understand the cause.

  • In the User Preferences dialog, the date format examples have been reorganized to appear on a separate line below the "Date Format" label, instead of repeating the label for all three format fields (CRM-6315). This provides a cleaner, less cluttered layout following the addition of accessibility labels.

Material Design design system updates

  • Continued updates to the application's visual design to align with the latest Material Design 3 guidelines, including changes such as more rounded borders on containers, cards, buttons, menus, dialogs, and navigation elements (CRM-6049). These changes modernize the application's appearance and maintain alignment with current Material Design standards.

  • Rich tooltips as defined by Material Design 3 (including a title, description, and up to two action buttons with left text alignment and separate title styling) are now supported (CRM-5588). This enhancement supports guided tours and provides more informative, interactive tooltip content within the application.

Preview enhancements

A preview pane has been added for opportunities under the Campaign workspace, along with a preview menu option for mobile interfaces (CRM-5996). This brings the Campaign workspace in line with other workspaces that already support opportunity previews.

Technical enhancements

The MaxMetaspaceSize JVM parameter in modeld startup scripts has been increased from 160MB to 1024MB, and the MetaspaceSize parameter has been set to 200MB (CRM-1216). These changes reduce garbage collection pressure during class loading and improve application stability.

Security enhancements

Apache Tomcat has been upgraded to version 9.0.117 (released by the Apache Software Foundation on May 1, 2026), in order to benefit from the latest security enhancements (CRM-6424).
